Our Little Toolbox…
We provide individualized care using time-honored therapies from East Asian medicine, thoughtfully integrated with modern healthcare.
Every treatment is personalized to your health history, current symptoms, and personal goals.
The body can heal itself.
Let’s remind it how…
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest continuously practiced forms of medicine in the world and has been used for thousands of years to promote health and restore balance.
Treatment involves the gentle insertion of sterile, single-use, hair-thin needles into carefully selected points on the body. These points are chosen based on your individual health concerns and are intended to support normal physiological function. Modern research suggests acupuncture may influence the nervous system, circulation, connective tissue, and the body's natural pain-modulating and healing processes.
Most patients are surprised by how comfortable acupuncture feels. You may notice a brief sensation as a needle is placed, followed by feelings of warmth, heaviness, tingling, or deep relaxation. Once the needles are in place, many patients rest quietly or even fall asleep during treatment.
Every acupuncture session includes time to discuss your progress and adjust your treatment plan as your needs change.
Pediatric Acupuncture
Children are not simply "small adults," and pediatric acupuncture reflects that philosophy.
Treatments are gentle, age-appropriate, and tailored to each child's comfort level. Depending on a child's age and preferences, care may include very fine acupuncture needles, acupressure, laser acupuncture, or Shonishin—a traditional Japanese pediatric technique that uses specialized non-insertive instruments to gently stimulate acupuncture points without needles.
Appointments are designed to be calm, positive, and engaging. Parents are encouraged to remain with their child throughout the visit, and we take time to explain each step in a way that helps children feel safe and comfortable.
Our goal is to create positive healthcare experiences that foster trust and confidence from an early age.
Cupping (Traditional Fire Method)
Cupping is a therapeutic technique that uses specialized cups to create gentle suction on the skin. The suction lifts the superficial layers of tissue, encouraging circulation, easing muscular tension, and supporting the body's natural recovery processes.
Depending on your treatment plan, cups may remain stationary or be gently moved across the skin using massage oil, a technique often called gliding cupping.
Cupping is commonly described as feeling like a deep tissue massage in reverse. Many patients find it deeply relaxing and enjoy the sensation of tension being gently released.
Temporary circular discoloration may occur following treatment. These marks are not bruises and typically fade over several days as the body naturally reabsorbs the increased blood flow in the area.
When appropriate, cupping may be incorporated into your acupuncture treatment to complement your overall care.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is a sophisticated system of botanical medicine that has been refined over thousands of years. Rather than focusing on a single herb or symptom, herbal formulas combine carefully selected ingredients that work together to address patterns of imbalance identified during your evaluation.
Each recommendation is individualized to your health history, current symptoms, constitution, and treatment goals. As your health changes, your herbal formula may also be adjusted to reflect your progress.
We prescribe only high-quality herbal products from reputable manufacturers that emphasize quality testing and safety. Before recommending herbs, we carefully review your medications, supplements, allergies, and medical history to help ensure they are appropriate for you.
Herbal medicine can be used on its own or alongside acupuncture as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
